Disney's Newsies tells the story of a strike by New York City newboys in 1899, led by the charismatic Jack Kelly, against unfair price hikes by newspaper publishers like Joseph pulitzer. The stage adaption which opened on Broadway in 2012, adds new songs while keeping popular film tunes like "Seize the Day" and "Carrying the Banner," and features high-energy choreography and a story about social justice.
